Coco peat, also known as coir pith, is a natural growing medium made from the fibrous husk of coconuts. It's a byproduct of the coconut industry, making it a sustainable alternative to peat moss.

Coco peat offers several advantages. It has excellent water retention and aeration, promoting healthy root growth. It's also lightweight, pH neutral, and relatively free of pests and diseases. It's a good choice for container gardening, hydroponics, and seed starting.

Coco peat bricks are dehydrated for easy shipping and storage. To use them, simply place the brick in a container and add water according to the manufacturer's instructions. The brick will expand and loosen into usable coco peat. Fluff it up after it's hydrated for best results.

Unlike soil, coco peat is soilless, meaning it doesn't contain minerals or nutrients (you'll need to add fertilizer). Compared to peat moss, coco peat is more sustainable and has better water retention. It's often used in mixes with soil or other media to improve drainage and aeration.
